Angry Atheist

PZ Myers, over at Pharyngula (one of the Science Blogs, check them out) is very entertaining: People who think that merely believing in Jesus grants them redemption must also think that believing in evolution is a magic charm that grants them exemption from criticism of any nonsense they might hold. It doesn’t work that way. There is no get-out-of-criticism-free card.

Subtle Jab Of The Day

From the GNU Coding Standards: If you do support Windows, please do not abbreviate it as “win”. In hacker terminology, calling something a “win” is a form of praise. You’re free to praise Microsoft Windows on your own if you want, but please don’t do this in GNU packages. Instead of abbreviating “Windows” to “un” [sic], you can write it in full or abbreviate it to “woe” or “w”. On another note, I need to stop suffixing all of my post titles with “Of The Day. Scotch & Politics

My friends and I started a blog for our long running club of snobbery: Scotch & Politics. Brendan posted an excellent piece today entitled “Why I Don’t Like Blogs” and Mike brought his thoroughly engaging Daily Briefing into the mix. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Hotlanta

What a weekend. I got back last night from my trip to Atlanta, Georgia, and Birmingham, Alabama. My friend from college, Thomas, got married to his gorgeous girlfriend, Jennie. It was a helluva trip. The Kleptones

I discovered today that The Kleptones maintain a blog/podcast called Hectic City. I have a moderately irrational love for his (The Kleptones is one fellow) mashups and am quite excited to hear more of his and others’ mashups via. this podcast.

It's Tricky

So it turns out it’s hard to find the time to sort through hundreds of photos while you’re on vacation. Kerri and I had a great time in D.C. and I took a bunch of great pictures. More details soon!

Photos For Owen

Kerri and I went to New Hampshire this past weekend for Owen’s birthday. We gave him framed prints of three photos that I happen to be particularly happy with. <typo:flickr img=”376964835″ size=”small”/> <typo:flickr img=”376952798″ size=”small”/> <typo:flickr img=”251426897″ size=”small”/> I printed them with Flickr’s “order prints” function and they came out very nice. Be warned that, if your photo is not the same aspect ratio as the size you order, they will mercilessly center crop the picture. Read more
